Great World – Singapore

Great World was an amusement park that had been erected before the war with the intent to disperse and accommodate the Chinese population of Chinatown in the event of Japanese aerial bombing of the city precinct.  Great World was later closed and the prisoners were moved to the adjacent River Valley Road Camp.  Accommodation at Great World was atap huts.
