Mount Pleasant Camp - Singapore

Mount Pleasant Camp – Singapore

Mount Pleasant Camp was located about 200 yards to the south of the Thompson Road Camp.  The accommodation consisted of comfortable two-storeyed homes that formerly housed government officials.  The men at this camp moved to Mount Pleasant on 5th May 1942 but a month later were moved again to Thomson Road Camp.  In addition to the draft from Selarang Barracks, some of the men had come from the Great World and River Valley Road Camps, having left Selarang Barracks the previous March.
