Doonybrook boy ‘Cobber’ Cain was KIA Hill 200, Ulu Pandan 12 Feb 1942 aged 22 years.

WX13079 Ronald (Ron) Edward ELLIS
of Wagin, enlisted 1941, joined 2/4th’s reinforcements.
At Singapore Ellis joined ‘D’ Coy’s 16 Platoon.
WIA 10 Feb 42 with GSW to right arm & shrapnel wound to his chest. Admitted Australian General Hospital in a badly shocked state, he died 11 Feb aged 21, following an amputation of his arm 2″ below his shoulder joint.
