L Cpl Reginald Harry Stewart WX7324 in centre

 

Stewart was wounded in action at Buona Vista on 15/2/1942. Admitted to 2/9th Field Ambulance with a shrapnel would to right thigh. Discharged to unit on 27/4/1942.

Poem “To the Memory of the 2/4th Machine Gunners” penned by M.G. Stewart, wife of R.H. Stewart.
We do not know when Reg Stewart came to WA nor his mother and Father.
Reg’s mother Florence Marie Stewart died 3 April 1946 aged 60n years at Victoria Park. Grantee is Reg Stewart.

Reg married 1933 to Betty Kathleen Thornton.  They had two chuldren, Glenyse and Reggie (Jnr).   They divorced in 1947.
Reg remarried in 1948 to Magdaleen Gladys Collett (nee Reilly)

Magdaleen Stewart died 7 Oct 2012 aged 99 years.

Reg Stewart passed away 14 Apr 1994 aged 81 years at Kewdale.
