Edgar’s parents Percy Harold Hunt born South Australia married Alice Matilda Wansborough in Beverley. The Wansborugh family was well known in the area.
The Hunt family settled in Beverley and had four children. Edgar had an older and younger sisters Thelma and Hilda, and a younger brother Campbell  known as ‘Cam’ who enlisted with the RAAF. Campbell died in South Australia in 1942.

1936 and 1937 (Electoral Roll) Edgar Hunt was employed as farmhand at Jacob’s Well, 20 km east of Beverley and moved to Dangin to work prior to enlisting. In 1937 his father was a grocer in Beverley.
Percy and Alice Hunt sadly lost both their sons to Australia’s war effort and the community of Beverley lost two fine young men.
Edgar was a talented footy player, playing for local team of Quairading and we believe was scouted for Swan Districts Football Club, however was not successful, prior to enlisting.  He also played for the 2/4th footy team with Clive Hellmrich.
