Singapore-Australia - Last seen at Ulu Pandan and reported missing from 18.2.1942. Soldier was shell shocked on 13.2.1943 and remained unconscious for seven hours. He was evacuated from No.1 Malaya General Hospital to Columbo from where he was returned to Australia, disembarking at Melbourne on 6.4.1942 ex HMT Stirling Castle. Soldier returned to Western Australia and after a period in hospital and three weeks convalescing, he was posted to the 43rd AA Gun Station. On his first shoot, headaches forced his transfer to the 4th Australian Signal Training Unit. From here he was again transferred to the 51st Water Transport Company.
