Cliff enlisted 16th July 1941, was Taken on Strength to Woodside, SA on 25th July 1941.

NCO was transferred from 88 L.A.D. to A.A.O.C. Armourer Sergeant on 6th February 1942 from Capt, Odlum orders.

Whilst at Adam Park and Sime Road Cliff Howe was in charge of the workshops).

At Jahore Bahru (with Jack Swift)

From Singapore Howe was Selected with ‘F’ Force Thailand.   Cliff worked in several camps including Tanbaya (Burma), Shimo Sonkurai – Kansui, to Kanchanaburi.

Returning to Singapore he was first aT Sime Road, Kranji Woodlands hospital to Changi (May 1945)

Changi Garden Party – In charge of men.

Recovered from Changi 4 Sep 1945.

He was recovered from Singapore.

Cliff Howe sailed from London 11 August 1927 on ‘Benalla’ to Fremantle aged 23 years.  His occupation was pattern maker.

After the war In 1950 he married Gertrude Cook and the couple lived at Kalgarin near Beverley (recorded Electoral Roll 1954 and 1958).  His occupation was carpenter.

Cliff Howe died in 1962 Perth, aged 57 years.

Cliff’s arrival is happily mentioned in local newspaper along with Basil Clarke.
