Dick was the youngest of two sons born to parents Joseph Todd and Leonora LLoyd who married 1910 Wellington district, WA.
Two years following the birth of Dick, his father Joseph died of throat cancer in 1918.  These years were particularly tough for Leonora as both her parents died in Victoria where she was born, during the previous two years.  She also had a brother die 1918 WW1 in France and another in 1919 at Kelmscott, WA.
When her youngest sons Dick died in Singapore  aged 25 years  Leonora would have been crushed.  She died in 1954 and was buried with her husband Joseph at Karrakatta.
