John Lane (formerly Ramsbottom) of 2/4th wrote the following for the Mandurah RSL Newsletter. He was taken to Japan with ‘J’ Force. Kobe House was to be the Camp he spent most of his time working as a POW. Later in life, John wrote several books including one about his childhood as a Fairbridge Farm Schoolboy and another about POW life in Japan.
