Memorial to Kranji Beach Battle 1942
Russian soldiers Manchuria 1945 – there were several POW Camps Manchuria. 2/4th’s Jim Clancy moved to Hoten (12 miles from Mukden) from 21 Nov 42 to end of war. He was injured during an air raid before his recovery. Please read about Jim Clancy US General Wainwright was imprisoned Manchuria. On 27 August he departed departed by air with all VIPs. Most POWs were entrained from Mukden to port of Darien, boarding US Navy ships, hospital ship USS Relief & transport USS Colbert, for evacuation to Okinawa. Following arrival of US Recovery team, Clancy was entrained to Port Arthur then to USN Refuge & Noble to Manila. Please read Mansell website
Ron Moran – died of starvation/ illness Sandakan 3 days after turning 21 years on 28 June 1945. Ron was youngest of 2/4th boys sent to Sandakan with ‘B’ & ‘E’ Force from Singapore.
WX224 John (Jack) MacDonald believed KIA 9 Feb 42 Ama Keng Village with ‘D’ Force 15 Platoon McDonald and his sister Florence never knew their father was executed WWI with British Forces for desertion. He was one of three soldiers made an example of by high ranking British officers. Please read further about this tragedy.

2/4th Country Reunion Popanyinning Hotel Date unknown – Hotel burnt down 9 July 1978. Do you recognise anybody???? Popanyinning is half way between Pingelly and Cuballang.
