General Description

Review WX7044 Donald McDonald‘s military records held at NAA.
McDonald was part of 2/3rd MGB ordered to remain behind at Java when ship he was sailing on from ME stopped over.
Following surrender to Japan about 8 March 1942 McDonald was first reported Missing.
In time he was shipped to the Burma-Thai Railway to work.  On Completion of the rail, he was sent to work in Japan.

 

 

The following is Donald’s Japanese Prisoner of War Index Card, also held at the NAA.

McDonald was recovered from Niihama POW Camp, Japan at the end of the war.  Please read further
