JAPANESE REGULATIONS FOR POWS ON TRANSPORT SHIPS

Japanese Regulations for prisoners on POW Transport Ships

An advertisement for passengers on Japanese cruisers, liners & junk ships ………..WW2

In fact POWs more often than not only received one meal a day – especially on the short journeys.
On some ships the toilets (2) were small box-like construction tied to side of deck hanging over the ocean.
Every ship was extremely cramped with little room for the men often because the ship would be carrying cargo.  Often the POWs could not stand in their confined sleeping area.

I dont recall ever reading POWs being given 2 blankets each.
