Return Details 1945:
Recovered Changi Gaol Camp on 4.9.1945. Embarked on 1st Netherlands Military Hospital Ship Oranje. Transferred to 107th Australian General Hospital Melbourne. Admitted to 115th Heidelberg Military Hospital and then admitted to 105th Adelaide Military Hospital. Deplaned Perth ex-Adelaide on 11.10.1945 and admitted to the 110th Perth Military Hospital.

General Description

Ted Nash enlisted 29 July 1941.  He was sent as replacement 5 October 1941 when Battalion was at Woodside SA.  He joined ‘C’ Company as a cook.
Evacuated to Australian General Hospital at Roberts Barracks Changi, from 6/8/1942 to 17/8/1942.
Ted Nash remained POW at Changi.  He suffered several illnesses including beri beri which required hospitalisation throughout the war.

He was included in the X10 Party.  Please read further.

He was recovered from Changi 4 September 1945.

His father died in August 1920 Lewisham, England.  Ted Nash sailed to WA from London January 1921 on’ Osterley’ with his widowed mother, older sister and brother.  Ted was 13 years old.
The following year Jane Nash gave birth to son Gordon Pearce Adrian Nash whose father was John Adrian Gordon Smith.  John Smith died in 1941 of TB at Woorooloo.
in 1928  Electoral Roll, Ted was working as Labourer,  Webbs Patch, Cue.  In 1931 he was Railway employee residing Belmont.  At that same time his mother Jane Nash lived River Road, Cannington.  
He married about 1934 to Eileen Sydney James b. 1914 Surrey, England and in 1937 the couple lived Rushton Street, Belmont while Ted was labourer.
After the war in 1954, Ted returned to Rushton Street, resuming employment as a labourer.  In 1966 Electoral Roll they are residing Charles St, Shenton Park and he is working as orderly.
Ted’s mother Jane Nash died 1 Sep 1966 at Embleton aged 84 years and buried Karrakatta.
In 1977 and 1980 Ted and Eileen are residing Orrong Street, Kewdale and he continues working as a hospital orderly.
Ted Nash died on 14th June 1985 aged 77 years.  Eileen died 20 February 2007 both buried Karrakata.
