General Description
Lloyd Foster was born Kalgoorlie to parents Oliver Foster Hadden and Lily Emma Troubridge who had married in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1907. Lloyd was one of four sons and one daughter Doreen. His brothers included Gilbert, Ralph and Ronald.
The reason Oliver Foster went to Kalgoorlie from South Africa is because he had several brothers in the region. Gilbert Carlisle (father of 2/4th’s Gilbert Valentine WX7213), Robert Carlisle who died in 1914, Arthur Graham who died in 1931. The fourth surviving brother Andrew died in Victoria in 1937.
Lloyd was one of five children born to Oliver Hadden’s family who moved to Lake Grace-Newdegate area.
Oliver Hadden died in 1931
Hadden enlisted AIF 30 Oct 1940 and later joined 2/4th’s ‘B’ Company 8 Platoon under commanding officer Lt. MacKinnon as a driver.
From Singapore Lloyd worked on the Burma-Thai Railway with D ForceThailand Captain Fred Harris Party.
Hadden was sent to work Ubon in early 1945.
He survived and was recovered from Ubon, Thailand at the end of the war.
Lloyds’ younger brother Ron, born 1922 Mt barker enlisted with the RAAF.

Lloyd Hadden married Adelina Robinson. Adelina and Lloyd were farming at Pingaring about 1954.
Lloyd died 21 January 1967.
