Above:  Nielsen was evacuated sick from the Burma-Thai Railway to Tarsau POW Hospital Camp where he died 24
Dec 1943 of dysentery and beri beri.
Other 2/3rd West Australians to die at Tarsau included Rowse, Thatcher and Woodall.
He was taken from Java via Singapore with a work force to work on the Railway.
