General Description
Monks, a farmer from Moora enlisted AIF at Northam 19 June 1940. HE had served in the 25th Light Horse Militia prior to joining AIF.

Bill was recovered from Ohama POW Camp, Japan at the end of the war. Please read further
He was returned to Manila from Japan, and sailed to Sydney on HMS Speaker Oct 1945.

Bill married in 1949 to Barbara Jean McArthur.
His mother Elsie Nunn Monks died 1959 in Perth and his father Gilbert Monks died 1970 in Perth.
Monks died Dec 2014 aged 95 years.
