General Description
Review WX4000 Arthur Withnell‘s military records held at NAA.

Kinsaiyok POW Camp Cemetery, Thailand,
Withnell died of cholera on 19 Jul 1943 the same day as fellow 2/3 soldier Rainbird. He was one of a large work force shipped from Java via Singapore to Thailand with commanding officer Weary Dunlop to work on the Burma-Thai Railway. Other 2/3rd to die of cholera at Kinsayok include Rainbird, Todd, Jenkins and Holland.
Watson, Robinson and Dawe died of dysentery at Kinsayok about the same time.

Above: The Withnell’s relief felt above would have been overwhelming sadness to learn of Arthur’s death.
