General Description

Review WX4089 William Ripper‘s military records held at NAA.

Bill Ripper initially enlisted 25th LHR Jan 1940 W3304.  He then enlisted AIF joining 2/2nd Northam.
He recorded his mother Mrs Jessie Ripper of Kellerberrin as his NOK.  Prior to enlisting he worked as a farm hand at Kellerberrin, his home town.
In July 1941 he received a GSW to his right knee and was  evacuated to 7 AGH. On 27 Nov 41 he was marched out to 2/3 MGB.
14 April 1942 embarked ‘Penrith Castle’ for Australia.
He was discharged Aug 1943.
