Cyril was selected with ‘B’ Force to sail to Borneo departing from Singapore 8 July 1942 on ‘Ume’ Maru and headed for British North Borneo.
Cyril died June 1945 at Sandakan.  Please read further.

Labuan Memorial, Malaysia.
Cyril was from Piawaning WA, about 32 km west of Wongan Hills.
Born in Caulfied, Victoria to his parents Samuel Jubelski (born Poland) and Jessie Winifred Brooker (born Bootel, Lancashire, England).  Samuel and Jessie married 1911 in Dublin, Ireland.
It is not known when they arrived in Australia.  They had 4 daughters one of whom died young and two sons, Cyril and Eric.
Cyril’s father died in Malvern, Victoria in 1939.  Jessie died in 1959.
