General Description
Hickson embarked on HMT Zealander at Fremantle with the 2/6th Field Park Company as 86 Light Aid Detachment on 30 May 1941. Transferred to 88 Light Aid Detachment, 8th Division Salvage Unit and then attached to 2/4th MGB, date unknown.
Hickson was hospitalised at Aunggaung 105 km Burma and although there are no records, we assume he was evacuated to Tamarkan or one of 4 large camps in Thailand when the railway was completed and all POWs in Burma were brought south into Thailand by the Japanese. He may have been at Tarmarkan when the war ended.
