JEFFERY Affidavit re Bill Dwyer-Brankassi, Thailand & Runge-Japan

Bill Jeffery WX17576 was with ‘D’ Force Thailand V Battalion.  He submitted the following affidavit concerning the horrendous mistreatment and death of POWs Bill Dwyer  at Brankrassi Camp on the rail line as well as punishment of Dave Runge in Japan  

Bill Dwyer, POW Brankassi POW Camp laughed in the ranks when parading for a work party – on arrival at the cutting he was ordered out of the ranks.  Bill was seen by  the POWs throughout the day unconscious and bleeding around his face and head.  At 2100 hours the POWs were ordered to carry Bill back to camp.  He died two days later.
