General Description
Doyle was captured in Java on 9 March 1942.

Whilst at Bicycle Camp, Java Tom Doyle was sick during July/August 1942. He became part of ‘A’ Force Burma Java Party No. 4.

Doyle was at Thanbyuzayat Burma hospital between 1st February to 16 June 1943. Other camps he was recorded at include Nikhe 133 km between 26 Dec 43 to 12 Jan 1944. Arrived No. 3 Camp Kanchanaburi and evacuated 1st priority to Nacompaton Hospital Camp 29 Apr 44 to 9 Jan 1945 seriously ill with bone and joint problems. He was trucked to Bangkok (with J.K.A. MacDonald WX17566) and recovered from there at the end of the war.
Tom’s mother Nora Doyle died in 1915 aged 44 years. She was mother to 3 daughters and 2 sons. Tom was the youngest and would have been about 13 years old when his mother died.
His father Joseph died in 1942 when Tom was a POW of Japan.
In 1931 Tom Doyle was residing Subiaco working as a labourer .
1954 Tom was May St, East Fremantle, working as a labourer.
Tom Doyle of East Fremantle died 25 Dec 1967 aged 65 and was cremated at Karrakatta.
