Harry Tysoe off to war – good mate Nobby Clarke to Harry’s left. At the end of the war it was Nobby who brought back Sparrow’s meagre possessions after he had passed away at Kobe, Japan to give to Sparrow’s wife, Eileen.

Harry and Fred’s cricket team. Fred served in the Australian Navy and was one of 23 survivors of HMAS Parramatta when it was sunk in the Mediterranean in 1941. 25 January 1950 Fred was killed in an explosion on HMAS Tarakan at Garden Island, Sydney.
